Dis-order is the mailorder section of Displeased Records, a Dutch record label / mailorder / distribution company since 1993.
Started out as a record label, releasing 3 albums a year by bands like Altar, Nembrionic, Celestial Season and Manegarm.
After a few years Displeased Records licensed some classic albums from Roadrunner,
like Infernal Majesty, Whiplash and
Pestilence, titles which did put the label on the worldwide metal map.
In 1994 we started up our mailorder, in the beginning with xeroxed sheets and later xeroxed A5 size catalogues.
Later on in 1995
those were printed in 1 color. From 1997 the mailorder was named Dis-order (Displeased - mailorder) and went on to a full color
A4 size catalogue and lasted till the end of 2004.
From 1996 our internet shop was started as a very simple list where orders had to be done by email.
The shop was redone several times and has grown to a full automated ordering system as it is now, with loads of user friendly features.
In 2004 over 95% of the orders were online, so we decided to end the paper catalogue, mainly because of the time it consumed
to make it and the fact that it's already 'old' when it came back from the printer.
The label side of the company has grown dramatically, from 3 releases a year in the beginning to 20 - 30 a year in 2006.
Most noticable releases were from bands like Blasphemy, Celestial Season, Circle of Dead Children, Cryptopsy, Devourment,
Houwitser, Infernal Majesty, Internal Suffering, Manegarm, Master, Officium Triste, Striborg, Toxik, Unlord and Whiplash.
Right now we are with 7 persons in total and still growing!
